News Tales of Tinseltown Lyricist/Librettist Michael Colby Gets Birthday Concert in NY Hear a clip from the Tales cast album.

Lyricist/librettist Michael Colby will celebrate his 65th birthday with a concert at New York's Triad nightclub that will benefit the charity Child Find of America.

Hosted by Sandi Durell, the 7 PM October 30 concert will feature songs from Colby's musicals, including Charlotte Sweet, Mrs. McThing, Tales of Tinseltown, Slay It With Music, Boynton Beach Club, North Atlantic, Ludlow Ladd: The Poor Little Orphan Boy and The First Family of Second Avenue as performed by Jeff Harnar, Jeff Keller, Heather MacRae, Marianne Tatum, Robert Cuccioli and other stage stars.

Also lined up to perform (subject to change): Bethe Austin, Joan Barber, P.J. Benjamin, Stephen Berger, Kevin Cahoon, Lori Tan Chinn, Erin Cronican, Peggy Eason, Louisa Flaningam, Jason Kravits, Rob & Stacie Langeder, Audrey Lavine, Randie Levine-Miller, Carolyn Mignini, Daryl Sherman, Maureen Taylor and Ryan Bauer Walsh.

Colby is the author of the memoir The Algonquin Kid - Adventures Growing Up In New York's Legendary Hotel published in 2015 by BearManor Media. His shows include Charlotte Sweet (composer: Gerald Jay Markoe), nominated for three Drama Desk Awards in 1982, and Tales of Tinseltown, a sardonic 1930s movieland musical he wrote with composer Paul Katz.
