Classic Arts News Tamšs Solymosi Joins American Ballet Theatre as Principal Guest Artist Dancer Tamšs Solymosi will join American Ballet Theatre for its Metropolitan Opera House season this spring, the company announced.
Solymosi, who will be the company's principal guest artist, will perform Conrad in Le Corsaire and von Rothbart in Swan Lake, and will perform the Act III Swan Lake pas de deux with Veronika Part.

At the Vienna State Opera Ballet, which he joined in 1993, Solymosi's repertory included Lescaut and Des Grieux in Manon, Albrecht in Giselle, Prince Siegfried in Nureyev's Swan Lake, Balanchine's Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, and others. He was born in Budapest, and trained at the Hungarian Dance Academy there, and after graduation danced with Dutch National Ballet and English National Ballet.

He has also appeared with the Bolshoi Ballet, Berlin State Opea, Finnish National Ballet, and Hungarian National Ballet. His brother, Zoltan Solymosi, is a former dancer with the Royal Ballet in London.
