Metamorphoses is an excursion into the heart of Ovid's masterpiece featuring such mythical characters as Midas, Eros, Apollo and Phaeton set in, on and around a beautifully reflective pool of water that represents everything from a stormy sea to an adulterous bed to a pool at the home of an over-privileged child.

The Chicago Tribune called the play "a unique reverie on the transforming power of love." The San Francisco Examiner added that the play "makes you fall in love with myths, with Ovid, with love and with the theatre all over again."

The production of Metamorphoses was initiated at Berkeley Rep Theatre and is running through March 26 at Seattle Rep. It will be presented at the Taper in association with those regional theatres. A Pay What You Can performance has been set for April 11. The Mark Taper Forum is located at l35 N. Grand Ave. For tickets and information call (213) 628-2772.
