Wait Until Dark, a revival of Frederick Knott's 1966 thriller starring Marisa Tomei and film auteur Quentin Tarantino, begins its pre-Broadway run in Boston Feb. 28 -- and it's already a hot ticket.
The show, which will play at Boston's Wilbur Theatre on Tremont St., sold $300,000 worth of tickets the week of Jan. 18 -- the first week of ticket sales -- and Boston presenter John Platt is "optimistic" that the entire Boston run will sell-out, according to Albert Poland, general manager for the Broadway production of the show, who spoke to Playbill On-Line.
After closing in Boston Mar. 22, the show comes to Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre, where previews are slated to begin Mar. 27 for an April 5 opening.
The director is Leonard Foglia (Master Class). The plot concerns a menacing drug dealer who terrorizes a blind woman. Other thrillers by Knott include 1952's Dial `M' For Murder.
