News Target Margin Theater Casts January Greek Revivals The Obie-winning Target Margin Theater continues to explore and reexamine Greek literature – welcoming back three revivals from its previous season.

The current season, which explores the entire canon of the work of Aristophanes, will take a detour to remount the works of Euripides, Aristotle and Plato January 11-14, 2008.

First up is As Yet Thou Art Young and Rash with David Herskovits returning to direct original cast members Satya Bhabha, Mia Katigbak, Mary Neufeld, Tina Shepard and Stephanie Weeks.

The creative team features Susan Barras (set design), Meredith Palin (costume design), Juliet Chia (lighting design), Jane Shaw (sound design), David Rosenmeyer (original music), Madelyn Kent (text advisor) and Kathleen Kennedy Tobin (dramaturg).

According to press notes, As Yet Thou Art Young and Rash asks, "'Can we really save the world as it slips into war and confusion?' Euripides frames burning personal suffering in an urgent civic context: his supplicants struggle to respond to their deep loss as human beings and as citizens; his leaders cloak their plans in the loftiest political rhetoric; his patriotism is passionate and deeply skeptical. Target Margin recasts his story in a vivid contemporary mold."

During the five-day festival playwright and actor David Greenspan will perform his solo work The Argument, based on both Aristotle's "Poetics" and the essays of Gerald F. Else. The work is described as "a passionate student's love-letter and farewell to his teacher -- reminding us of the personal pathos that binds us to the Greeks, and firing us up to capture that chimera, art." Finally, The Dinner Party, loosely based on Plato's "Symposium," will "take on love from every angle, delving into the original text with gusto to bring out the philosophy and lust, language and appetite, the abstract challenges to our dearly held prejudices -- not to mention the really good wine."

The cast for The Dinner Party includes Han Nah Kim, Diana Konopka, Mary Neufeld, Steven Rattazzi, Greig Sargeant, Stephanie Weeks and Ian Wen under the direction of David Herskovits.

The Dinner Party design team includes Sarah Edkins (set design), Ásta Bennie Hostetter (costume design), Lenore Doxsee (lighting design), Jane Shaw (sound design) and Kathleen Kennedy Tobin (dramaturg).

The Target Margin revivals will play Theatre Three, located in Manhattan at 311 West 43rd Street. Tickets are available by calling (212) 352-3101 or by visiting www.targetmargin.org.
