Variety reports that Diggs is close to signing a deal to play a Los Angeles-based policeman "wrongfully accused of murder" in the new drama. "While trying to figure out who framed him," the industry paper explains, "Diggs' character must also race to stop another murder from happening." "Daybreak" is a Touchstone TV production and will be directed by Rob Bowman. Producers include Paul Zbyszewski and Matt Gross.

He received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for his performance in Off-Broadway's The Wild Party and was recently seen in A Soldier’s Play.
