Entitled "Loose Change," the piece will premiere during the Complexions Contemporary Ballet's upcoming season at the Joyce Theater. The dance company is scheduled to play the Joyce Jan. 9-14, 2007. Richardson will dance to "If I Had a Dime," which was written and recorded by David Ryan Harris. In describing his work, Diggs said in a statement, "I've always found the phrase 'If I had a dime for every...' amusing. I was inspired by the take the songwriter has on this phrase. In this piece, I experimented with the combined ideas of imagination, longing and a strong desire for another person. This song has always made me feel and move, and I'm grateful to have an opportunity to express this."

Diggs began his own dance training with Garth Fagan and Timothy Draper, and he also took dance classes at Steps that were led by Dwight Rhoden and Richardson. The actor is also co-artistic director with Andrew Palermo of dre.dance, which will play Joyce SoHo in June.

Taye Diggs has appeared on Broadway in Wicked, Carousel, Rent and Chicago. He received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for his performance in Off-Broadway's The Wild Party and was recently seen in A Soldier’s Play. Diggs' screen credits include "Day Break," “Rent,” “Kevin Hill,” "How Stella Got Her Groove Back," "The Best Man," "The Way of the Gun," "House on a Haunted Hill," "The Wood," "Go," "Brown Sugar" and "Chicago."
