The sixth annual event — featuring readings of new works by Danny Hoch, Charlayne Woodard, Lee Blessing and Jon Robin Baitz — will play at the southern California locale.
Joining Taylor, Gyllenhaal and Levine are Michael Jace ("The Shield"), Sanaa Lathan ("Love And Basketball"), Juanita Jennings ("Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her"), Linda Gehringer ("American Pie"), Jonathan Woodward, Jon Cabrera, Chanet Johnson, Veralyn Jones, Zach Quintero, Kevin Daniels, Dwier Brown, Larry Joshua, Javi Mulero, Elisa Bocanegra, Ana Ortiz, Jeremiah Birquett, Jonathan DelArco, Anthony Diaz-Perez, Peter Skarsgard and Julanne Chidi Hill. More names will be announced shortly.
Till The Break Of Dawn by Hoch, Pro Bono by Peter Morris, The Man Who Outgrew His Prison Cell by Joe Loya, Flight by Woodard, Flag Day by Blessing and Chinese Friends by Baitz are this year's selected works.
Set in the Ojai countryside, the conference provides a retreat-like environment away from nearby Los Angeles where the scribes work in-house on their developing plays. The intensive workshop ends with the public readings.
The Ojai Playwrights Conference will take place at the Zalk Theatre, 8585 Ojai Santa Paula Road in Ojai, CA. For tickets and more information, call (805) 640-0400 or visit www.ojaiplaywrightsconf.org.
