News TDF, League, BID Lights Holiday Tree in Duffy Square Dec. 13 The Theatre Development Fund, the League of American Theatres and Producers and Times Square Business Improvement District and two yet unannounced Broadway stars will light the Broadway holiday tree Dec. 13 in Duffy Square. The tree is decorated each year with colored holiday lights and ornaments representing every show currently playing on and off Broadway.

The Theatre Development Fund, the League of American Theatres and Producers and Times Square Business Improvement District and two yet unannounced Broadway stars will light the Broadway holiday tree Dec. 13 in Duffy Square. The tree is decorated each year with colored holiday lights and ornaments representing every show currently playing on and off Broadway.

For the third year in a row, TDF and the League will give a $5,000 gift to an as-yet-unannounced not-for-profit organization. The first two recipients were The Actors' Fund of America and Encore Community Service.

Following the ceremony, a moment of silence will be held in remembrance of people the theatre community lost in the last year.

Duffy Square is located at 46th and Broadway and is home to the Theatre Development Fund's TKTS booth.
