The Picture (Retrato Falado) a drama by Teresa Frota, which opened Feb. 27, reinaugurates The Glaucio Gill Theatre in Rio de Janeiro.

Frota, a Brazilian actress and writer, brings to the stage her first adult play, after her blockbuster hit The Priceless (Os Impagaveis) a superproduction for children that ran in Rio de Janeiro throughout 1997.

The Picture (Retrato Falado) portrays the relationships between a strong willed womanand those close to her, and also deals with hereditary insanity and the conflict of generations.

The play is directed by Henri Pagnoncelli. The cast includes the brilliant young actors Marcello Caridad and Carmem Frentzel. Costume Design by Ricardo Ferreira. Lighting Design by the award winning Aurelio Di Simoni.
