News Terrence Mann Expected To Return to Javert in Bway Les Miz, Feb. 4-March 15 Terrence Mann, Tony Award-nominated for playing Inspector Javert in Broadway's Les Miserables when it first opened in the 1986-87 season, will return to the show for the musical's final weeks, Feb. 4-March 15, according to his official website.

A spokesman for the show could not confirm the casting — nor confirm the rumors that Colm Wilkinson and other original Broadway cast members are being wooed for final weeks of the run. The site (http://www.terrence mann.com) does not indicate what role Mann would take, but it's expected he'll return to the part of the monomaniacal Javert, who hunts down Jean Valjean (created by Wilkinson in London and on Broadway) in early 19th-century France. The Broadway run of the international smash musical based on the novel by Victor Hugo will end March 15, three days after the production celebrates its 16th anniversary in New York (the show opened March 12, 1987).

Tickets for the last weeks of the show are on sale now through March 9. The anniversary week performances (March 10-15) are not yet on public sale. Since Les Miz will close on a Saturday, the previous Monday has been designated as a performance night.

Les Miz plays the Imperial Theatre. For ticket information, call (212) 239-6200.
