News Terrence McNally's Mothers and Sons Will Have Boston Premiere Boston's SpeakEasy Stage Company will produce Terrence McNally's new Broadway drama Mothers and Sons as the final production of its 2014-15 season.

The new play, which will end its Broadway run June 22 at the John Golden Theatre, will be staged by SpeakEasy producing artistic director Paul Daigneault. Performances run May 8-June 6, 2015, in the Roberts Studio Theatre.

The SpeakEasy production will feature Nancy E. Carroll in the role of Katharine Gerard. Tyne Daly created the role on Broadway.

Mothers and Sons is billed as a "timely and touching new play that explores our evolving understanding of what it means to be a family. Funny, provocative, and poignant, this acclaimed drama follows Dallas matriarch Katharine Gerard on an unexpected visit to New York to meet with her late son's former partner, who is now married to another man and raising a young son. Forced to consider the life her own son might have led, Katharine must now come to terms with her own life choices and how society has changed around her."
