The story of a gang heist gone wrong, "Foxtrot" will star Billie Piper, Ben Whishaw and Lindsay Duncan and will be broadcast as part of Sky Arts' "Playhouse Presents" season.
Along with "Foxtrot," BSkyB has ordered the medical series "Critical" and the police drama "Nightshift," which join "Foxtrot" as part of the "Playhouse Presents" series. BSkyB has also joined the thriller "Penny Dreadful," starring Reeve Carney as Dorian Gray, as a co-producer.
The new programs are part of BSkyB's commitment to invest $955 million annually in homegrown content by 2014. This would mark an increase of 50 percent over three years.
Previously announced original BSkyB productions include "The Tunnel" for the Sky Atlantic network, "Dracula for Sky Living," starring Jonathan Rhys Myers; "Fleming on Sky Atlantic," starring Dominic Cooper as James Bond creator Ian Fleming; and the return of "A Young Doctor's Notebook," starring Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm.
"Foxtrot" marks the second collaboration between Stenham and Duncan, who starred in Stenham's play That Face. Stenham's work also includes Tusk Tusk and No Quarter.
