News That Was Then, New Soul Musical, Will Play Hudson Guild Theater That Was Then, a new soul musical written by Arnold S. Wolfe, will play the Hudson Guild Theater Aug. 31 at 6:15 PM, Sept. 4 at 9 PM and Sept. 6 at 3:30 PM. The show is featured as part of New York's annual Thespis Theater festival.

The show is described as such: "Artie & some of his college mates discover 'Soul' in the mid-1960s. But wanting to play it full-time might not only cost him his girl, Sandy: Playing it full-time means dropping out & risking the Vietnam draft. Can Artie have his band & Sandy, too? Will he & his bandmates drop out for their Music? Will they even die for it? That Was Then time-travels you to the sights and the sounds of 1965 so you can re-live or experience for the first time the initial impact of songs by Wilson 'Wicked' Pickett, The Temptations and Otis Redding, music that continues to resound today--both in America & the world."

That Was Then is directed by Nick Brennan.
