News "The After Party" Welcomes Gypsy's Fraser and Wig Out! Stars Oct. 31 "The After Party," billed as "an informal midtown schmoozefest for the theatrically inclined," welcomes current Gypsy star Alison Fraser as well as Wig Out!'s Sweetie (a.k.a. Daniel T. Booth), Joshua Cruz and Angela Grovey Oct. 31.

Fraser and the Wig Out folk will be on hand to greet fans and perform. The Halloween-themed evening will also feature costume prizes for audience members. Hosted by Brandon Cutrell and Alysha Umphress, "The After Party" at the Laurie Beechman Theatre features Ray Fellman at the piano. Amateurs and professionals are invited to take turns at the open mic during the "Party," which begins at 10:30 PM and continues to 2 AM.

Alison Fraser, who plays Tessie Tura in Gypsy, received Tony nominations for her performances in Romance/Romance and The Secret Garden, and her other Broadway credits include The Mystery of Edwin Drood and the 1996 revival of Tartuffe. She created the role of Trina in William Finn's In Trousers and March of the Falsettos and reprised that role in the anniversary concert for Playwrights Horizons. Her other Off-Broadway credits include roles in Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams, Up Against It, The Green Heart, Beehive and Swingtime Canteen. Fraser also starred in the national tour of High School Musical as well as in productions of Lizzie Borden, Honk!, Lend Me a Tenor, Gunmetal Blues and Lips Together, Teeth Apart. Her screen credits include "Law & Order: SVU," "Third Watch," "The Thing About My Folks," "Jack and His Friends" and "In the Blood."

Tarell Alvin McCraney's Wig Out! is currently playing an extended run at Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre through Nov. 16. The production is "a fierce and intoxicating new play which tells of two competing drag houses, and the loves, loyalties, and dreams within each that draw their members together and apart," according to the Vineyard.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street. There is no cover charge or minimum for "The After Party."
