News "The After Party" Welcomes Kennedy and Stravelli March 21 "The After Party," billed as "an informal social gathering for the theatrically inclined," welcomes singer-actress Lauren Kennedy and Bistro Award winner Gabrielle Stravelli March 21.

Both Kennedy and Stravelli will be on hand to greet fans and perform a few songs.

Hosted by Brandon Cutrell and Alysha Umphress, "The After Party" at the Laurie Beechman Theatre features Ray Fellman at the piano. Cabaret favorite Lisa Asher is also part of the "Party" mix, where amateurs and professionals are invited to take turns at the open mic. The "Party" begins at 10:30 PM and continues to 2 AM.

Lauren Kennedy was most recently seen on the Broadway stage as the Lady of the Lake in the Tony-winning musical Spamalot. She covered the role of Daisy Hilton in the Broadway production of Side Show and also appeared in the New York companies of Sunset Boulevard and Les Misérables. Kennedy starred in The Rhythm Club and was also a part of the early incarnations of Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years. Kennedy previously crossed the Atlantic to star in the National Theatre's revival of South Pacific. She was also seen in The Ten Commandments: The Spectacle Musical. Her solo albums are titled "The Songs of Jason Robert Brown" and "Here and Now."

Gabrielle Stravelli originated the role of Anique in the musical Ace. A Bistro Award winner, Stravelli was the featured singer at the Iridium Jazz Brunch and performed at the BB King Blues Club at the 2007 MAC Awards. She has also presented her own cabaret acts at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Duplex Cabaret Theatre and Don't Tell Mama. Stravelli has appeared as a soloist with several orchestras, including the Cincinnati Pops, conducted by Erich Kunzel.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street. There is no cover charge or minimum for "The After Party."
