News The Audience's Donahue Begins Algonquin Stint June 14 Celebrated pop/jazz singer Jack Donahue, who was seen earlier this season in the acclaimed Off-Broadway production The Audience, will play the Algonquin's Oak Room June 14-25.

Backed by the Andy Ezrin Trio — featuring Ezrin on piano, Paul Nowinski on bass and Ben Wittman on percussion — Donahue will celebrate the release of his new CD, "Strange Weather," which was produced by Grammy Award winner Peter Eldridge. Cabaretgoers can expect the singer to perform tunes by Irving Berlin, Alec Wilder, Suzanne Vega, Jay Leonhart and Harold Arlen. Jack Donahue was seen Off-Broadway this season in The Audience and was also featured with the Duke Ellington Orchestra at Birdland for a celebration of the 2005 Harold Arlen Centennial. His theatrical credits include the world premiere of The Ballad of Little Jo as well as What the World Needs Now, Of Melodrama and Murder and Floyd Collins. A MAC Award winner, Donahue can also be heard on the new PS Classics Inc. release "Fine and Dandy."

The Algonquin Hotel is located in New York City at 59 West 44th Street. Donahue will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 9 PM with late shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 11:30 PM. There is a $50 cover as well as a minimum; for more information, call (212) 419-9331.
