PlayBlog The Book of Mormon's Josh Gad Heads to the Village for NYC's Gay Pride (Video) Tony Award nominee Josh Gad, currently starring in The Book of Mormon on Broadway, returned as a correspondent to "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" to report on New York City's annual Gay Pride Parade, which was held in the Village June 26.

Gad interviewed members of the LGBT community on their reaction to the marriage equality that recently hit the state of New York. Marriage equality in New York State was made into law June 24, two days before the pride parade, when the State Senate passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed the bill into law at 11:55 PM on Friday, less than two hours after the Senate passed the measure by a vote of 33-29. Couples interested in marrying will have to wait 30 days for the state to get its act together. Same-sex marriages will commence the week of July 25.

After talking to rejoicing members of the LGBT community, Gad united with Mormon co-star and Broadway Impact co-founder Rory O'Malley to share in the gay spirit and ended his segment with a kiss.
