Composer-lyricist David Yazbek reunites with his partners from The Full Monty, director Jack O'Brien and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, to create the work, which has been seen in private readings and workshops in the last 18 months.

A Broadway opening in February 2005 has been mentioned in published reports. The libretto is by Jeffrey Lane ("Mad About You"), based on the 1988 film comedy that starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine as con men preying on romance-starved women in the French Riviera.

No casting has been announced, but readings have included Brian Stokes Mitchell, Norbert Leo Butz, Denis O'Hare, Sheri Rene Scott and Christine Ebersole.

Designers are David Rockwell (set), Kenneth Posner (lighting) and Gregg Barnes (costumes).

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels plays through Oct. 24 at the Old Globe. The dates were first announced in The San Diego Union-Tribune.

David Brown and Marty Bell are attached as the future commercial producers.
