Cast members of The Lion King will share the stage with four of the Los Angeles area's premiere gospel choirs on Monday, Oct. 29, in an evening of "praise and worship," according to a press release.

"The Spirit of The Lion King Gospel Showcase" is the culmination of a program created by the company of the show to share their music with a diverse range of audiences throughout Southern California.

The First African Methodist Episcopal of Los Angeles (F.A.M.E. LA), the Evangelistic Church of God in Christ, the CME Community Choir and the First African Methodist Episcopal of Pasadena (F.A.M.E. Pasadena) will take the stage at the Pantages Theatre, home of The Lion King, along with cast members to perform original gospel arrangements of music from the show, including "He Lives In You," "Shadowland," "Endless Night" and "Circle of Life." Gospel star Donnie McClurkin will also perform a new arrangement of "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" backed by the New Antioch Children's Choir. Cast members from The Lion King will also perform original music.

Pastors from each of the performing churches will deliver addresses throughout the concert.

The event is free and will be hosted by local radio personality Aundre Russell of KJLH-FM. Tickets can only be received through the radio station or the participating churches. For more information, call (818) 972 5119.
