Following its massive success at the box office, Lionsgate is bringing "The Hunger Games" franchise to the London stage in 2016, according to Variety.

Based on the Suzanne Collins books, the Hunger Games stage show will come to a newly created theatre next to Wembley Stadium in London in 2016. Lionsgate is partnering with Dutch Company Imagine Nation and U.S. Company Triangular Entertainment to build the venue.

The stage venture will be produced by Robin de Levita, Harvey Goldsmith, Warren Adams and Brandon Victor Dixon of Broadway's WalkRunFly Productions, and Robert Harris and Gary Ricci.

Lionsgate Chief Marketing Officer Tim Palen says of the producing team: “Their creative genius, combined with world-class production values and state-of-the-art technology will provide a uniquely immersive experience for fans around the world.”

The stage show is set to open a year after the final fourth movie, "Mockingjay: Part 2," which is set to premiere in theatres Nov. 2015.
