The story follows Amir from a young boy living in Kabul, Afghanistan, who finds ways of escaping the terrible events unfolding around him through to adulthood as he searches for atonement in an exploration of father-son relationships and friendships.
The tour will begin in Tempe, Arizona next year before visiting an additional 20 cities, with further tour dates to be announced. Additionally, The Kite Runner is now available for licensing through Dramatic Publishing.
The Kite Runner premiered at the San Jose Repertory Theater in 2009, prior to several UK productions, including two 2017 West End engagements. The play then came to New York for a strictly limited run in the summer of 2022.
