News "The Kvetching Continues": Hoffman Adds Joe's Pub Performance Jan. 12 An additional performance of Scraping the Bottom for Chanukah, the outrageous holiday show created and performed by Jackie Hoffman, has added at Joe's Pub.

Known for her work in Xanadu and Hairspray, Hoffman leaves no holiday stone unturned, or un-thrown, in her cabaret act, which began performances Dec. 8 at the downtown venue. In addition to her forthcoming Jan. 5 shows at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM, Hoffman will offer a 7:30 PM performance on Jan. 12.

Michael Schiralli directs Scraping the Bottom with musical direction and accompaniment by Bobby Peaco. In Scraping the Bottom for Chanukah, Hoffman "shamelessly retreads her meanest musical hits in an evening of song that's just plain wrong." The evenings also celebrate Hoffman's solo debut recording, "Jackie Hoffman: Live at Joe's Pub" (PS Classics).

Songs featured in previous Hoffman concerts and on her recording include "The Kvetching Continues," "Three Minutes on Broadway," "Stop Making Out," "My Little Fibroid," "Cancer" and "No Child Is Born."

Hoffman received a Theatre World Award for her work in Hairspray. Her other theatrical credits include Xanadu, The Sisters Rosensweig, Regrets Only, Book of Liz (Obie Award), Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe (Jeff Award). Hoffman has been seen on screen in "Legally Blonde II," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Garden State," "Mo' Money" and "Freaky Friday."

Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. Tickets, priced $30, are available by visiting www.joespub.com.
