As previously reported, Mark Brokaw (Cry-Baby) will stage the play that will also star Tony Award-winning actress Linda Lavin (Other Desert Cities, Collected Stories, Broadway Bound), Michael Esper (American Idiot, Intelligent Homosexual's Guide…) and Gregory Wooddell (Some Men in Philadelphia).

The Lyons will officially open Oct. 11 and continue through Oct. 30. The play marks Silver's seventh work to debut at the Vineyard.

The Vineyard describes the comedy as "an outrageously funny and stirring work about a family grappling with the impending death of its patriarch. When Ben Lyons' wife, Rita, and their grown children gather to say goodbye, they learn that despite being a family, each of them is utterly isolated. Afraid of closeness and afraid of solitude, they are propelled into foreign territory - human connection."

Latessa, a veteran of Broadway's Follies and Brighton Beach Memoirs, earned a Tony Award for Hairspray and was last seen in the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises.

Grant starred in the 2009 Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls, as well as Proof, An American Daughter and Summer of '42 Off-Broadway. Pressley appeared in the original Broadway cast of Dreamgirls, as well as The First Breeze of Summer, Mom How Did You Meet the Beatles and You Don't Miss the Water at the Vineyard.

The design team includes Allen Moyer (scenic design), David Lander (lighting design), Michael Krass (costume design) and David Van Tieghem (original music and sound design).

Silver is the author of Raised in Captivity (Drama Desk nomination, Outer Critics Circle nomination), Pterodactyls (Oppenheimer Award, Kesselring Award, Drama Desk nomination, Outer Critics Circle nomination), The Food Chain (Outer Critics Circle nomination), The Eros Trilogy, Fit to Be Tied, The Maiden's Prayer, Free Will and Wanton Lust (Helen Hayes Award), The Altruists and Three Changes.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public Aug. 31. Memberships are currently available. Visit VineyardTheatre.org, or phone (212) 353-0303.
