"The Office" Star Will Relive Childhood Traumas at Geffen Playhouse | Playbill

News "The Office" Star Will Relive Childhood Traumas at Geffen Playhouse Rainn Wilson, who starred as Dwight Schrute on NBC's "The Office," will star in Will Eno's monologue Thom Pain (based on nothing) at Geffen Playhouse's Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater Jan. 13-Feb. 14, 2016.

The production will be directed by Oliver Butler.

Thom Pain (based on nothing), in which the titular character relives some of his most painful childhood memories, is described as such: "The play concerns the life of a tragic and hilarious character named Thom, who has been described as, 'just like you, except worse. He is trying to save his life, to save your life — in that order. In his quest for salvation, he'll stop at nothing, be distracted by nothing, except maybe a piece of lint, or the woman in the second row.'"

The monologue premiered at the 2004 Edinburgh Festival, performed by James Urbaniak. It then moved Off-Broadway in 2005. Hal Brooks served as director.
