LOS ANGELES -- A 15-performance run of The Pajama Game will kick off Reprise! Broadway's Best in Concert second season on May 6, starring Dorian Harewood (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Christine Ebersole (Gypsy) and Tony-nominee Jane Lanier.
Directed by Will MacKenzie, who directed Finian's Rainbow during Reprise's inaugural season, and choreographed by Patti Colombo, The Pajama Game will play through May 17 at the UCLA Freud Playhouse. There will be a gala celebration of the musical on May 6 with its original stars, John Raitt and Janis Paige, in attendance. Tickets for the gala are $60.
The Pajama Game has a score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. They wrote only one other, Damn Yankees, as Ross died of a lung ailment in 1955.
Based on Richard Bissell's novel 7 1/2 Cents , The Pajama Game has a book by George Abbott and Bissell. It will be followed in the new Reprise! season by Threepenny Opera in September.
Single tickets and season subscriptions are available by calling the UCLA central ticket office at (310) 825-2101 or any Ticketmaster outlet.
