Barry Primus, Judith Light, Paul Mazursky and Lyle Kessler have been cast by director Stephan Morrow in his one- night-only concert-reading production of Arthur Miller's The Price. Part of the Great American Play Series, The Price will be seen at the Ivar Theatre in L.A., Jan. 11, at 7.30 PM. The $10 suggested donation includes a post-play reception with refreshments.

The Price is a drama which deals with two estranged brothers who meet again to sell their dead father's furniture. Although one is a surgeon and the other a policeman, each has paid a price to arrive at his respective position in life. Ultimately, the brothers are faced with the question of who is truly my brother's keeper.

The Great American Play Series is committed to staging seldom-seen classics of the American theatre with casts of seasoned professionals. "The idea is to see these great plays in their best light; too often the beauty of these works is muddled by weak, amateurish mountings," said Morrow. "But with ...bare-bones staging, we believe the emotional truth of the...plays resonates powerfully enough, not only to move regular theatre stalwarts familiar with the classics, but also to reach across the generations, to a new theatre audience."

Ivar Theatre is located at 1605 Ivar St. in Hollywood. For reservations call (310) 285-0252 or (323) 462-3275.
