Presented by Fishamble: The New Play Company, The Pride of Parnell Street is directed by Jim Culleton. Performances run through Oct. 4.

The cast includes Aidan Kelly as Joe and Mary Murray as Janet. The play originally premiered at the Tricycle Theatre in London as part of the Dublin Festival in 2007.

"Italy 1-Ireland 0... The score that marked Ireland’s demoralizing exit from the World Cup Italia 1990 took its toll. No more so than on Janet and Joe Brady of Parnell Street, who lost far more than the match that night. Some years on, they reveal the intimacies of their love and the rupture of their marriage as well as their enduring love affair with Dublin city itself. The Pride of Parnell Street is an intimate, heroic tale of ordinary and extraordinary life on the streets of Dublin," according to press notes.

The "1st Irish Festival" will also present the one-act play collection Spinning the Times (Sept. 2-20) and Luck (Sept. 23-Oct. 11).

Tickets for 59E59 Theaters productions are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting TicketCentral. For further information visit 59E59Theaters.
