Under the direction of Warner Snook, the Simon comedy began performances July 21 and will run through Aug. 8. DeRosa (Hairspray, Walmartopia) leads the cast as Mel Edison, with Tony nominee Cox (Caroline, or Change) as Edna Edison, Dillon (My One And Only) as Jessie, as well as Jeanne Paulsen (The Kentucky Cycle) as Pauline, Alice Playten (Henry, Sweet Henry) as Pearl and Julian Gamble as Henry Edison.

The Prisoner of Second Avenue, according to press notes, "tells the story of Mel and Edna Edison, a middle-aged couple living in New York, who find their luck is quickly deteriorating during a terrible heat wave and a garbage strike. When Mel cracks under the pressure, his family intervenes in an attempt to nurse him back to his old self, with predictably unpredictable results."

The BTF production has designs by Scott Bradley (scenic design), Laurie Churba (costume design), Mary Louise Geiger (lighting design) and Scott Killian (sound design).
