News "The Sarah Jones Show" Airs on Bravo as bridge & tunnel Ends CA Run, Feb. 20 Sarah Jones' acclaimed Off-Broadway show bridge and tunnel will end its pre-Broadway workshop performances at Berkeley Repertory Theatre on Feb. 20, the same day her Bravo television special "The Sarah Jones Show" airs.

The show, which had expected to play Broadway this spring, "will now open in the fall as the right intimate Broadway theater isn't available at this time," as a recent release states.

Tony Taccone (Continental Divide) — who staged the work Off-Broadway — also directed the month-long run for the California stage where he serves as artistic director.

bridge and tunnel once again plays to Jones' chameleon-like talents as she tackles over a dozen characters including a Pakistani accountant, a Chinese mother and a young Latina at a local community poetry slam. The characters in the work explore issues of assimilation in modern urban America, putting the New York melting pot to the test.

The work originally began previews Feb. 6 at the 45 Bleecker Street Theatre and opened Feb. 19 to positive critical and audience response. The solo show recouped its entire investment of $200,000 within seven weeks of the first preview performance.

The performer can also be seen in "The Sarah Jones Show," her one-hour variety/performance special that will incorporate many characters from her current stagework bridge and tunnel, debuting on Bravo Feb. 20 at 9 PM (ET). A Bravo release describes the show as sketches that "range from one-person monologues performed in front of a live audience to multi-character pieces where Jones intermingles and plays off her other personas, to 'on the street' remotes where Sarah interacts, in character, with the unsuspecting public."

"The Sarah Jones Show" is a Bravo original special produced by Jumbolaya Productions. Executive producers are Nancy Stern, Mary-Jane April and Sarah Jones.
