As previously reported, "1600 Penn" is co-created by Gad, "Modern Family" director Jason Winer and Jon Lovett, former speechwriter to President Barack Obama.
Directed by Winer, the Mormon Tony nominee plays the out-of-control oldest son of a dysfunctional family who resides in the White House. “Hairspray” actress Brittany Snow plays Gad's overachieving sister, and stage actor Bill Pullman plays President Dale Gilchrist.
Gad currently stars as Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon, a role that earned him a 2011 Tony Award nomination. He has also been seen on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and is known for his television work, which includes "The Daily Show" and "Back to You," among others.
