News THE SCREENING ROOM: Chord Overstreet Returns to McKinley High on Fox's "Glee" (Video) Chord Overstreet, who played "Trouty Mouth" Sam Evans on the Fox hit series "Glee," is returning to McKinley High for a multi-episode arc beginning with the Dec. 6 episode, "Hold On To Sixteen."

When Overstreet was not picked up as a series regular for the show’s third season, he declined a recurring role. The actor had been offered a deal to return for 10 episodes with a possibility to become a regular at midseason, but turned down the offer. However, Overstreet has decided to sign back on—just in time for sectionals.

Here's how fox describes the "Hold On To Sixteen" episode: "In an attempt to recruit a few more members, Finn (Cory Monteith) tracks down former teammate Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) and convinces him to come back to the glee club. Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) comes to the defense of Mike (Harry Shum, Jr.) and encourages him to pursue his dream while McKinley prepares to host the big sectionals performance."

Here, Monteith shares his excitement about reuniting with Overstreet, and Fox offers a preview of "Red Solo Cup," Sam's first musical number since his return.

"Glee" airs Tuesday nights on Fox at 8 PM ET.
