On "So You Think You Can Dance," Texas contestant Jarell Rochelle closed the season's first episode with his performance to Alan's "It's Good To See You Again." Rochelle, who will advance to the next round of the competition, dedicated his performance to his mother. Judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe complimented Rochelle's choreography and also commented on the music, saying, "I loved the song."
"It's Good To See You Again," a song from Alan's sophomore album, "Keys," features vocalist Marcus Paul James, who was seen on Broadway in In the Heights and Rent. The composer's other albums include "What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up" and "Dreaming Wide Awake."
As previously reported, Alan's newest album, "Live," will be released digitally June 26. The recording features live performances from Alan's recent Birdland concert, which included Natalie Weiss, Jeremy Jordan, Lea Salonga, Laura Osnes, Caissie Levy and Stephanie J. Block, among others. His new musical Home is aiming for Broadway in 2012.
