News THE SCREENING ROOM: Shoshana Bean Sings "My Funny Valentine" (Video) Shoshana Bean, who has been seen on Broadway in Hairspray and Wicked, covered "My Funny Valentine" at her Feb. 13 NYC concert at the XL Nightclub.

The singer, who also performed a cover of "You Can't Hurry Love" in celebration of Valentine's Day, is offering a month-long stint of Monday-night concerts at the XL, where she performs both covers and original songs.

"My Funny Valentine," a favorite of singer-songwriter Bean, was written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart for the 1937 musical Babes in Arms. After being recorded by artists such as Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra and Miles Davis, the song became a popular jazz standard.
