The 1959 musical The Sound of Music features a score by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II with a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The musical was later adapted into a 1965 film starring Julie Andrews as Maria, the postulant who looks over the von Trapp children. John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Doubt was adapted into a 2008 film starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams as the Catholic school nuns who begin to question Father Flynn's (Philip Seymour Hoffman) relationship with Donald Miller, the only black student at the Bronx Catholic school. Nunsense is a musical comedy with a book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin. The show was later adapted for television, starring Rue McClanahan. Here is a clip from the movie in which Sister Mary Amnesia sings about the pleasures of being a nun. We've also included a scene with McClanahan:
