Federle's 2013 debut novel, "Better Nate Than Ever," traced the comic and touching adventure of a Pennsylvania teen who sneaks off to New York City to reach his Broadway dream. The book was met with critical acclaim upon its release.

"Better Nate Than Ever" also placed on the Best Book of the Year lists for Publishers Weekly and Amazon.

The sequel continues Nate's tale. According to Simon & Schuster, "Armed with a one-way ticket to New York City, small-town theater geek Nate is off to start rehearsals for E.T.: The Broadway Musical. Federle made his Broadway debut in the 2003 Broadway revival of Gypsy with Bernadette Peters. He went on to perform in the Broadway casts of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Little Mermaid and Billy Elliot. Federle was a swing, dance captain and associate choreographer for the Broadway production of Billy Elliot.

The initial novel in the "Nate" series was inspired by the young performers who auditioned for Billy Elliot – one in particular who carried a lucky rabbit's foot behind his back during his audition.
