News The Shape of Things Announces Early West End Closing The London production of The Shape of Things — starring American actress Alicia Witt — will close June 12.

The New Ambassadors Theatre is the venue for the London revival of Neil LaBute’s play, which opened May 17. After out-of-town tryouts, the show was booking at the New Ambassadors until July 3.

The Shape of Things focuses on the relationship between art student Evelyn and her boyfriend Adam, whom she sets out to change while their friends Philip and Jenny look on. It was originally produced in 2001 at London’s Almeida with a cast including Rachel Weisz and Paul Rudd, who resumed their roles for the 2003 film version.

The 2004 cast also includes three young Brit actors, James Murray, Sienna Guillory and Enzo Cilenti. Julian Webber directs the new production. Designs are by Simon Higlett, with Kenny Wax producing.

Alicia Witt co-starred on the TV sitcom "Cybill" and has appeared in the films "Two Weeks Notice," "American Girl," "Playing Mona Lisa," "Cecil B. Demented," "Urban Legend," "Citizen Ruth," "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "Fun."
