While the The Sound of Music can be heard on Broadway, the musical adaptation of the Von Trapp Family story by Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers, is also playing to delighted Tokyo audiences. The musical will be staged until April 21.

Fans of the musical are legion, however this adaptation of by the Toho production company, gives Japanese audiences a chance to hear translated versions of the now famous songs.

The cast features Daichi Mao, Furuya Ikko, Yoko Kon and Isao. The stage is by Yamada Kazuya. Book by Howard Lindsay, Russel Crouse.

Matinees are at noon or 1 p.m. and/or evening shows at 5p.m. No shows April13.
