In 1965, The Sound of Music: The Making of America’s Favorite Movie hit bookstores across the world. The behind-the-scenes look at the iconic film starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer as the charming governess and Captain Von Trapp included in-depth interviews with the cast and crew—including Andrews and Plummer—as well as director-producer Robert Wise.

Now, the historic retelling of stories from the set, photos from the shoot, and scenes that decorated the cutting-room floor is being re-released April 1.

The revised edition from the Chicago Review Press will including additional material, including more photos and updated biographical information about the many faces of Sound of Music, plus information about the Sound of Music phenomenon that has sparked tours in Salzburg and singalong showings in the U.S.
