Germonski Productions and Expanded Arts' new production of Shakespeare's late career play, The Tempest, will close on Dec. 20, after a run that began on Dec. 10. The show will take place at Expanded Arts' digs on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Since this is a Downtown production, we know very well that the Bard won't be left to his own devices. Deposed Duke and Sorceror Prospero and his daughter Miranda are still stranded on an island, but the said plot of land lies in the bayou off the coast of Louisiana. Sprite Ariel is a "witchie-woman" and miscreant Caliban, a backwoods local.

The Tempest is directed by Aimee Zygmonski, up until recently a publicist for the Public Theater and Joe's Pub. Her cast includes Jason Craig, Kim Donovan, Sean Harris, Nick Jaeger, Jessica Jelliffe, Jay Liebowitz, Richard Simon and Ana Mercedes Torres.

Tickets are $15. Expanded Arts is located at 113 Ludlow Street. For information, call (212) 398-5096.
