News The Thing About Running Men; Gurwin Kicks Off NYC Marathon in Song, Nov. 2 Danny Gurwin, a current star of the Off-Broadway musical The Thing About Men, will kick off the New York City Marathon, Nov. 2 at 10 AM singing the national anthem at the Verrazano Narrows Bridge.

The actor will also start the "Athletes with Disabilities" Marathon at 9 AM with a performance of "America the Beautiful." The event will be televised on NBC. Gurwin recently appeared on Broadway in Urinetown and has also performed in The Full Monty, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Shakespeare's R & J, Forbidden Broadway 2001, A New Brain, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told and A Little Night Music at the Kennedy Center Sondheim Celebration.
