News The Vandal, By Hamish Linklater, Will Have Free New York Reading Oct. 17 Obie Award-winning actor Hamish Linklater's new play The Vandal will receive a special Oct. 17 reading, as part of a partnership between New York Stage and Film and Barnard College.

Flea Theater founder and artistic director Jim Simpson will direct the 7 PM reading at Barnard's Glicker-Milstein Black Box Theatre on the university's Morningside Heights campus. Additional new works readings will be announced for Nov. 14, as well as Feb. 13, March 12 and April 2, 2012.

Linklater is currently in rehearsals for the Broadway production of Seminar, which will begin performances Oct. 27 at the John Golden Theatre. His credits also include The School for Lies, Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice, The Winter's Tale, Hamlet and Good Thing. He is well known for his television work on "The New Adventures of Old Christine."

Tickets to the reading are free. RSVP to [email protected]. The Glicker-Milstein Black Box Theatre is located at 3009 Broadway at 117th Street, Lower Level 2.
