Ashford, who stars in the title role as the show's lovable pooch, is joined by Broderick as Sylvia's owner, who is going through a midlife crisis. The cast also stars Tony winner White as Broderick's wife and Robert Sella in a variety of roles, both male and female.
Daniel Sullivan directs the Broadway staging of the 1995 play. Previews began Oct. 2.

Sylvia, according to press notes, is about "what happens when a smart, sassy, captivating canine befriends a New Yorker in Central Park and changes his life—and his wife’s life—forever. This wonderful look into the complexities of love and commitment asks what it truly means to be devoted to your partner…and how do you choose between the love of your life and man’s best friend?"

The original 1995 production starred Parker (as Sylvia), Blythe Danner and Charles Kimbrough, and ran 167 performances at Manhattan Theatre Club's Stage I.
