The Verdict The Verdict: Dallas Critics Rave for "Steamy," Contemporary Les Misérables Director Liesl Tommy has staged a new, modern-dress, immersive production of the hit international musical Les Misérables, which officially opened July 4 at the Dallas Theater Center after previews that began June 27.

A host of Broadway actors, including Nehal Joshi as Jean Valjean and Justin Keyes as Marius, are part of the multi-racial contemporary staging that has been generating buzz with its immersive setting that makes use of the Wyly Theater's dynamic, flexible environment. Performances continue through Aug. 17. 

The musical is penned by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schonberg and Herbert Kretzmer.
