News TheaterWorks' Dead Man's Cell Phone Opens in Hartford Feb. 6 Finnerty Steeves answers a life-changing call in Sarah Ruhl's Dead Man's Cell Phone, which officially opens at Hartford TheaterWorks Feb. 6.

The dark comedy, under the direction of Rob Ruggiero, began performances Jan. 30 and will run through March 15.

Steeves (Almost Maine) leads a cast that features Lee Heinz (Peter Pan), Anne-Lynn Kettles (TheaterWorks' A Christmas Carol), Joey Parsons (TheaterWorks' Rabbit Hole), Mark Shanahan (Tryst at Westport) and Craig Wroe (Catch-22).

In Dead Man's Cell Phone, press notes reveal, "a woman in a café finds that the man with the ringing cell phone next to her is 'out of minutes.' When Jean answers his phone, she gets swept into the complicated personal and professional life of the late owner. Reveling in the intrigue, she opens a Pandora's Box of unexpected events in this magical comedy."

The design team includes Michael Schweikardt (set design), Katherine Hampton Noland (costume design), John Lasiter (lighting design) and J Hagenbuckle (sound design).

The popular comedy opened Off-Broadway in March 2008 starring Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker. The production premiered at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, DC in 2007 and continues to be a regional staple.
