The NYPD and the Times Square Business Improvement District (TS-BID) have announced traffic alerts for May 22 and May 23 in the theatre district. From midnight May 22 to 7 AM May 23, West 53rd Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic due to a stage being erected for a performance by the group Matchbox 20.
On May 23, starting at 6 PM, the rock group PHISH will be appearing at Roseland on West 52nd Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue. The group's following is large and pedestrian and vehicular delays are expected.
Theatre patrons may wish to adjust their travel plans.
