Responding to charges that the White House has been selling accesss to the president, the Administration released a list of 831 friends, supporters, officials and dignitaries who have been permitted to sleep over at the White House during President Bill Clinton's tenure. Included was a list of 67 people grouped as "Arts and Letters," with several prominent theatre folk among them. Here are the current or former theatre artists who have spent the night under the president's roof -- whether as non-paying invited guests or otherwise -- as listed in the New York Times:
Kathleen Battle, Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Ted Danson, Richard Dreyfuss, David Geffen, John Guare, Peter Guber, Christine Lahti, James Naughton, Neil Simon, Steven Spielberg and Barbra Streisand.
