News Theatre Under the Stars Stages Swing! — with David Elder — in Houston Theatre Under The Stars in Houston will put up a production of the Broadway musical Swing! from Jan. 30-Feb. 11 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

The production stars David Elder (Broadway's 42nd Street), Keith Lamelle Thomas (Broadway's Swing! and Ragtime), Michelle Dawson (Broadway's Show Boat and Cyrano - The Musical), Emily Drennan, Alison Solomon, Desiree Duarte, Adealani, Malia, Lori Barber, Michelle Marmolejo, Beverly Durand, Quinn M. Bass, Parker Esse, Christopher Saunders, Anthony Wayne and Mark Eckstein. The veteran Chicago director Marc Robin helms the production. Mark Stuart Eckstein and Beverly Durand will serve as co-choreographers. The design team includes Richard Winkler (lighting), Christopher "Kit" Bond (sound), John Farrell (scenic consultant) and Thomas Marquez (costume advisor).

Swing opened in 1999 on Broadway at the St. James Theatre and ran for 461 performances before closing in Jan. 14, 2001. It received six Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
