A musical adaptation of Gertrude Chandler Warner’s “The Boxcar Children” opens Sat. Nov. 18 at the Auditorium of the Equitable Tower in NYC. Presented on two successive weekends in November, the Theatreworks/USA production runs through Nov. 19 and picks up again, Sat. Nov. 25 and Sun., Nov. 26.

Directed by Rob Barron with a book by Darrah Cloud, Boxcar features music and lyrics by Kim Sherman. The story involves four Depression-era kids who find new friends and family after making a new home out of an abandoned boxcar.

This is Theatreworks/USA's third production of the season. Artistic director Barbara Pasternack and managing director Ken Arthur have announced the following schedule for the remainder of the 2000-2001 season:
