Phylicia Rashad in August: Osage County
I was so curious if it mattered that she was black and the rest of her family was white or if it would have been awkward. It wasn’t. She was STUNNING in the role, and it somehow heightened it for me. It's all about the story, and if it isn’t race specific…IT DOESN’T MATTER!!!
I was having a really hard time and I won the lottery and sat in the front row. It was like she knew, and her entire performance lifted me.
Lillias White in Fela
Forget it!!! No words.
Bernadette Peters in Annie Get Your Gun
I saw it the first time I visited NYC. Pure Magic.
Bernadette Peters in Gypsy
Riveting.
Daniel Reichard in Jersey Boys
I thought he gave a Tony-worthy performance. It was such a beautiful performance.
Adam Kantor in Rent
He is a brilliant actor.

Victoria Clark in Light in the Piazza
It was MAGICAL. It made me fall in love with musical theatre all over again.
